Five days later....

What a week. We had eight more kids Monday, seven Tuesday, seven on Wednesday and four yesterday (snow babies!). Here are some new photos:

2 hours, 4 mothers, 7 kids

I think this morning set a record: 2 hours, 4 mothers, 7 kids and I think 6 of the 7 were does. The weather has been so beautiful that most of the kids have been born outside. Hopefully we'll be back making cheese this week!

We're up to 13 kids now

We're up to 13 kids now.

Unfortunately for the cheese making business they're all from Boer (meat goat) mothers, so no one to milk yet.

The new kidding barn is almost finished and the old barn is in various stages of coming apart. I'll put some more pictures up soon.

Welcome to Elodie Farms

First of all, a great big THANK YOU to Marla Laubisch our web designer. I think she did a great job with this new web design. Please let us know what you think.

We have 4 kids (baby goats) so far. The 2nd or 3rd of February is typical for the kidding season to start, so here we go... ( 2 does down and 53 more to go)

Dinner on the Porch Reservations will be opening next week. Please check back to the Dinner Section of our website for a link that will take you to a site to make reservations.

I attended the NC Agritourism Networking Association meeting yesterday and visited two lovely places: Zimmerman Winery and Caraway Alpaca Farm. Now that I've met the Zimmermans, I'm hoping we can have them out to the farm for a wine tasting once we are back into the swing of things. And if you've never seen alpacas up close, they are just adorable!

We are in the process of demolishing the old barn and building a new kidding barn with the recycled wood.
